Back at the homestead. Craig just finished a golf tourney with some buddies at work. He had a good time. He almost won a prize given that he made a 40 foot putt! I have to say..I'm pretty proud! Someone else stole the prize with a 48 foot putt (although there might have been some cheating there! ....so Craig says ;))
I have also been keeping busy. I found a neat little photoshop downtown that holds workshops. I love photography and I am definitely a work in progress. The workshops are really neat. The guy that owns the store also does field trips where everyone meets somewhere and he helps people get some good pictures. I have a nice DSLR camera and learning how to use it is a lot easier with some help. As I get better I hope to have another blog that shows off some of my pictures. I'll keep ya posted on that!
Today we headed over to the Catholic Church to go to their annual festival. The advertisment called it a festival but really it was a full out carnival. They had carnival rides all the way from a ferris wheel, to a rollar coaster, to the tilt-a-whirl. There was food, games, and even your typical carnies! Oh...and a Beer Garden! Yes a beer garden in a church parking lot! You don't see that every day. In any event, we had a good time eating some hotdogs and watching all the people.
After the carnival/festival, we headed to the beach. Craig wanted to try out some more fishing and I wanted to capture some good pictures. We found the perfect fishing spot. Standing there on the beach you could actually see the fish jumping everywhere. The good news...Craig caught his first fish since we've been here! They do exist! Not just one...but THREE!!!! (Craig wanted me to mention that he did catch all three within an hour :)) Now granted they weren't the 50 pounders that we were planning for but that didn't matter. It was so cool. Salt water fish are interesting looking so everytime he caught a fish I had to run over and get a picture. The second one was really weird. It kinda had spikes. It was hard getting the lure out of his mouth.
