The weekend ahead!

I have to say…I am EXCITED…for many reasons:

1) I have a four day weekend ahead of me! Can’t beat that.

2) My sister has tasked me with designing/decorating her dining room. She gave me a budget and told me what she wanted in the room. She wanted to make the room a piano room…not a dining room. She wanted it warm and cozy. That is it…the rest has been up to me. This last week, I’ve been designing like crazy. My first task was to find a piano. I had to stay within a pretty tight budget and I knew nothing about buying a piano, not to mention, designing around a piano is really dang hard. To stay in budget, a used piano was my only option. Last weekend I became extremely educated on what to look for in a piano and what a fair price is. With lots of help, I picked her out a BEAUTIFUL piece that not only looks beautiful but sounds beautiful too! After the piano was bought I could focus on the rest of the room. Needless to say I have been a shopping maniac this week. Visualizing a room and how it will all fit together is really difficult, and I constantly go back and forth with my decisions. Tomorrow is the big day however. The piano arrives, the furniture arrives, and the actual decorating begins. I have a few pieces that still need to be purchased/created but for the most part, the big ticket items are ready to go. The exciting part…my sister hasn’t seen any of it! It is all going to be a huge surprise when the room is complete. I’m a little nervous on how it will all come together, but really excited too. I’ll take lots of before/after pictures to share. There is a chance the room won’t be complete this weekend since I usually change my mind a couple of times during the design process. We’ll see. Nonetheless, I am sooooo excited!

3) This is a pretty big weekend here in Colorado, as it is Sniagrab weekend. This means, lots and lots of skis for sale for SUPER DUPER cheap. Craig and I both need new skis so we are hitting this up for sure! I haven’t skied since I left CO after college, so I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am about this! The other good news…this winter is supposed to be snow heaven! This means…lots of snow days (i.e. no work), and lots of ski days (i.e. hitting the slopes).
